'…….Knowledge and practice of the truthful and righteous way of living, will lead to the purity and fearlessness that is a prerequisite to the absolute bliss of self realization…….'
Religions, irrespective of their individual interpretation, severally profess the path towards peace, righteousness; austerity, love, and purity. There is no conflict on the deliberation that 'service to man is service to the almighty'. Unfortunately this universal path is gradually becoming difficult to tread upon in our era due to obstacles being created amongst others, by religious aphorism, social disparity, economic imbalance, violence and terrorism.
In view of the above and in order to uphold righteousness, intellect discrimination wisdom, knowledge and spirituality (enlightenment) as well as to support the thought of "Live and Let Live", SREI Foundation, Business Economics and Institute for Inspiration and Self Development, Kolkata, India decided to promote a conference entitled "World Confluence of Humanity, Power, and Spirituality". The conference or to be more apt the 'confluence' took place from the 6th through the 10th January 2010 at The Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Kolkata, India.
The mission of the confluence was to attempt to kinder the flame of the human spirit towards gaining the inner power of spirituality, compassion and understanding, armed with which one would be energized and motivated to serve one another on a larger canvas of religious tolerance.
The wise speakers, representing wide schools of thoughts and beliefs, helped realize that the human soul is embedded with 'divinity', which when dormant need to be awakened through spirituality and divinity.
Further, the discourses go on to reflect that there is no conflict between science and religion; rather they complement each other towards the attainment of complete knowledge.
Apart from the discussions and exchange of thoughts and beliefs, the conference also witnessed various cultural programs such as songs and events for children.
Mr. Hari Prasad Kanoria (Chairman – SREI FOUNDATION) had the vision to host this confluence of humanity, power and spirituality coinciding with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and Parhamansa Yoganandaji thereby paying a befitting tribute to the great sage of modern religion and religious tolerance.
'……….the time has come for us to realize that religions are flowers of different colours, which are to be tied with a cord of love into a beautiful bouquet and to be offered at the altar of truth…….'
